Last week we looked at a few of the habitats that exist around the world and tried to piece together why there are so many different types of habitats, or biomes, around the world. From the snow covered Antarctica, to the sweltering rainforests in Brazil and even the deserts surrounding the UAE, the world is truly a remarkable place.
Look at the videos below and see if you can see different environments and think about where in the world they may be. Use the atlases in class to help you identify the sections, and find out more about each part by researching the links given to you here, and the information passed on in class. Use the maps in your classroom and the photos shown below to complete your map in class.
Some children were asked to think about why it was hotter around the equator, and why there were polar regions high above and below it. This video below helps explain this..
