In Science, we will be learning about electrical conductors and insulators. What do you already know? What can you find out by interacting with the activities below?
Comment below on your findings. In Science this term we will be learning about sound.
Why not play the games and look at the websites below to learn more about sound and hearing. Year 4 have been studying Electricity and this week have enjoyed making predictions about which materials are Conductors or Insulators. they have worked on their Scientific skills of making predictions, determining fair tests and recording results by drawing their own column tables.
This term we are studying Electrifying Electricity!
We will be learning the following objectives: Pupils will be taught to: identify common appliances that run on electricity construct a simple series electrical circuit, identifying and naming its basic parts, including cells, wires, bulbs, switches and buzzers identify whether or not a lamp will light in a simple series circuit, based on whether or not the lamp is part of a complete loop with a battery recognise that a switch opens and closes a circuit and associate this with whether or not a lamp lights in a simple series circuit recognise some common conductors and insulators, and associate metals with being good conductors. Can you create a circuit of your own at home? Can you create a Powerpoint or experiment of your own to see if a bulb will light or not? |
