1. Uses a connective to structure your argument e.g. first, finally Finally, the practice of poaching must be stopped... 2. Uses a cause and effect connective e.g. because, as a result of As a result of drinking too much coffee, Mr jones could not get to sleep.. 3. Is a rhetorical question Do you really need this one explaining to you? 4. Uses emotive language e.g. brutal, selfish The actions of these selfish poachers... 5. Is a conditional sentence with a modal verb e.g. if….might/could/should If you do really well with your homework, you should receive an effort point. You will have written 5 sentences that you can use in your persuasive writing and even be able to include them in your computing sessions when recording each other!

Have a look and see if you can create more of your own to develop and work out! BSAK is the password! Create a book blurb to encourage someone to read that book, using the features listed on your sheet. We're looking for great language coupled with beautiful presentation and artwork to show everyone on this blog, and put on display in school. We'll also pick out a few for the children to create a video about them. Have a look at the examples of book blurbs from authors in the slideshow, below and there's also a copy of the sheet you had in there too... Just in case! Mrs Robb, Mr Jones and Mrs JonesCopy and complete these worded problems into your books, SHOW your working out and create a problem of your own to solve. Mrs Moseley and Mrs McCabe's groupRead the text and then answer the question on the sheet in full sentences where possible.
