Question 1: i worked out that 241 times 4= 964 by first working out what times what= 4 and the first answer in my head was 1 times 4 so i tested out the sum 241 times 4 and the answer was 964 and with the two numbers already given this was the only possible answer

Question 1:First I tried all the times tables that equalled 4. I did 242x2 but it didn't give me the right answer. Then I did 241x4 ,I had to carry the 16 and added the 10 onto 2x4 which equals 8, 8+1=9 so my right answer was 241x4=964

These questions were difficult but in the end I got them correct. So on question 1 first I tried to do 242x2 but that was the wrong answer .so after thinking . I tried to do 241 x 4 at first I thought that it would be wrong but when I tried adding the 1 I ended up having the right answer : 964. Question 2. when I tried to do this question I had a hard time doing it. after trying different numbers I solved this question here is how I solved it : at first I went nowhere with this because there were not just 1 or 2 numbers missing practically all the numbers were missing . At first I tried doing a 4 in the ones place but that didn't work so in my head I tried doing all the possible combinations for this equation and realised it was 225 x5 = 1,125.

1. In the first column I put a 1 and the number t was timesing it by was a 4 and that made 4. Then I went to the next column and did 4x4 and that made 16.I carried the ten and added it to the next column and did the rest. 2. First I did 5x5 and that gave me 25 I put the 5 down below and carried the 2.Then I did 2x5 which is 10 , added the 2 to and that gave me 12.I put the 2 below and carried the 1. In the last column I did 2x5,added the 1 to get 11.I put the 11 in the boxes below to get the answer.

1.As the last number of the answer is 4, you would have to multiply 1 and 4.Now we can move on to the tens column. As we know we are multiplying by 4,the answer would be 160 as we are doing 40x4. We have to carry the extra hundred to the hundreds column. Now we can move on to the hundreds column. 200x4=800 then add 100 from the carry over to 800. Your final answer would be 964

For question one in the ones column I added 1 and the number I times it by 4 . Then I put 60 in the tens column . So it said 241 x 4 = 964. Finally I cheecked it by doing the inverse . 964 ÷ 4 = 241 .

For question 1 I put one in the ones column and the number I times it by 4. So it said 241 x 4 . Then I realised the answer is 964 so it said 241 x 4 = 964. For question 2 I did 1000 in the thousands column then divided it 1125 ÷ 5 then I worked out it was 225 so it was 225 x 5 = 1125 . Finally I checked it by doing 1125 ÷ 5 =225.

There are 10 ways to solve this question :0 to 10 in front of the 125.One way is 0,which makes 0125 which is the same as 125.There are 20 5,s in 100 ,and there are 5 5,s in 25,so the answer is 25.Another answer is 3:??? X 5 = 3125.There are 200 5,s in 1000,there are 600 5,s in 3000,there are 25 5,s in 125.So the answer is 625.🤔

I got ( the first answer ) 241*4=964 and I found that this was the only possible because I tried out others like 242*2=984 but this wouldn't work for the answer 900 so 241*4=964 is the only one that works for all the numbers.

I got ( for the second sum ) 4 answers witch all worked for the answer. I got 425*5=2125, 225*5=1125, 625*5=3125 and 825*5=4125. I made sure the fist number was always a multiple of five that ended in zero because you had to carry a one. The tens and units had to be 25 witch were the only 2 digits that worked with the carrying.

For the first question I did factor pars of 4 and we looked for all the factor pairs that I could find witch were 1,2 and 4 then we tried to use the factor pairs that would complete the sum and the two factor pairs we used were 1 and 4 and our answer was 964.

I found my answers by using factors of certain numbers. For example I need to find factors of 4 which are 2 times 2 and 1 times 4.So I did 2 times 2 is 4 then I checked but it didn't work because 2 times 2 didn't give anything close to nine.So I straight away new that it had to be 1 times 4.

For the first question I figured it out by looking at the unit of the result of the multiplication “4”. So I tried 1 x 4 which equal 4.

1. I looked at my hundreds column.I thought how to get 900 +.It had to be a 4 or a 5.I decided to trie 4. I looked at my units it had to be 1.idid the multiplication. 2.inverse of x so to find top number 5 I had to divide the answer by 5.Trial error 8 too big. Trial error 5 too big. Trial error I tried 2,3 and 4 it all worked

The only way for the digit four to work is by doing 1 x 4 , 4 x 1 , 2 x 2. but for the third digit to be a nine it has to be 1 x 4 when you know that, you know that the second digit in the answer is a six.

Question 2: first i found out that the last two digits had to be 25 i did this by dividing 125 by 5 which were numbers already given to me. Then i tried the sum 125 times 5 which did not work so i tried 225 times 5 which worked but then i had a theory if 125 did'nt work but 225 did maybe only even numbers worked i tried 325 which did not work but when i tried 425 it did work but just to make sure i tried 525 that did not work but 625 did theory confirmed

1) first I tried 2 x 2 = 4 next I did 2 x 4 = 8 then i did 2 x 2 = 4 but wasn't equivalent to 9 so then I tried 4 x 1 = 4 then i did 4 x 4 = 16 2 x 4 = 8 finally I carried the 1. the answer the boxes 1, 4 and 6 the answer is 964

I know that 1 X 4 is 4 so I tested it in the first question and solved for the remaining missing numbers.

1- First I tried 1 X 4, then 4 X4 =16 and it works out miraculously because 2 x4 = 8 plus the 1 on top = 9. I was lucky it worked out from the first time.

To get 4 in the units in the answer box you must either do 2times2 or 1 times4 so I tried 2times2 and it didn't give me the correct answer so I conclude it is 1times 4 wich gave me the correct answer so next i do 4times4 wich =16 (carry) 2times4 wich gave me 8 carry 1from 16 so it becomes 6 so the overall answer is 964 Q.2 225 or 625 or 425

2. I first wrote down all of the multiples of 5 which went up to ten which were 5,15 , 25, 35, 45, so i tried 1x5 = 5 but then i soon noticed that in the next column i wouldn't be able to make a number ending in 2 so i did 3x5=15 carry the ten but then I realised that you can't make a number ending in two with a 5 and a 1 the ending number will either be 6 or 1 so I did 5x5 =25 carry the 20 did 5x20=120+2+122 then carried the one hundred and did 200x5=1000 + 100 =1100 so the finishing number is 1125.

In question 1 you have to look at the answer first. As the answer is 4 we thave to find a number in the middle that multiplies by 4 to give an answer ending in 4. We have to use trail and error. We used the same method to get answer in question 2. i guessed that 5x5 was 25 so 2 got carried over to the tens column. next we wanted a multiplication of 5 that gave answer of 2 in the units digit. so we multiplied 5 by 2 got 10 ans added 2 to get 12.

in the first exercise I knew that you had to multiply by 4 or less because 4 x 200 = 800 and with the extra 40 x 4 it turned into a 900. Then I just did trial and error until I got the answer.

....then I knew that 5 was the missing digit because 5 was the only number that would fit in and would make a thousand so the answer was 1125.

For question 2, the number in the tens column ( of the answer) is a 2 so there had to be a carryover and it had to end in a 2 so I knew that it was 5 X5 which is 25. Also,we need a carryover of 1 to the hundreds so the number in the hundreds column had to be a 2,4,6,8 giving an answer which has a 1.So the last blank in the thousands column would be a 1,2,3,4.
