Year 4 were delighted to welcome Mr Khan to our area! He held our attention by reading a fantastic book, 'The Twits.' This is a humorous children's book, written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake.
Did you know that it was written in 1979, and first published in 1980? Thank you for coming to read, Mr Khan! The International Exercise Challenge continues as we hold a 1-0 lead in our challenge series vs El Centro Inglis School from Spain. The same as the last challenge, it will be as many repetitions of the exercise in 2mins. Children have two weeks to practice the exercise, with the option of putting themselves forward to represent the School in the challenge. Watch the video below to see how to complete a 'squat' accurately. How many squats can you do in 2 minutes? A boy and girl will be chosen from Year 3-Year 6 and the total reps will be totalled to challenge the Spanish school. It is about beating their personal best and that no matter how many they can do they can put their name in the box for a chance to represent the school. Happy New Year and welcome back! We have lots of fun and exciting opportunities in store for the children and plenty of opportunities for you to be involved in their learning.
The children are gradually settling into the new term and getting used to the early starts again. Thank you for ensuring your child arrives at school prepared for the day ahead. Please continue to check Planners regularly and encourage your child to read at home every day. Year 4 are now on Twitter, @BSAKyear4, please follow us and enjoy our regular updates. With the cooler weather children are understandably wearing jumpers and cardigans, particularly in the morning. Please ensure these are clearly labelled with your child's name and class. As per the School Policy, children may wear trousers during the cooler months. girls may wear tights although these are discouraged for Swimming and PE days.
