Year 4 had the privilege of having Mrs Gordon's fitness expertise this morning! Each class was involved in completing various exercise sets of wall sits, tricep dips, squats, push ups, planks and sit ups along with a cool down to finish! What a great way to start the day! Thank you, Mrs Gordon!

We were very fortunate to have Mr Al Ahbabi arrive in Year 4 and read to the whole year group. As this year is the Year of Reading in the UAE, he was the perfect role model for us. He read an extract to one of his favourite books, Game of Thrones, and focused on one of his favourite characters, Bran. The children listened intently to the reading and picked out the rich language and dilemmas faced by the characters, offering their thoughts and feelings to what they heard. We were indeed very fortunate to have one of our year groups fathers to come and read to us, and hope that many more will follow suit to encourage our young boys to read. Thank you Mr Al Ahbabi.

Take a look at the videos taken from some of our arabic lessons in Year 4.
Can you tell what they are saying? What statements are they making? They sound great and are working very hard to learn a new language! Thank you to the Arabic Department for sharing these videos with us!
Well done everyone! If you were speaking like they were, what tips would you give them?
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Finlay, Fred Franklyn, Sam E, Tadhg and Robbie on their outstanding Rugby achievements this weekend! They were part of the Harlequins team that won overall this weekend in Doha! Well done! Here are all the squad from Year 4 giving Mr Collings the good news!
Have you ever been to the UK, China or even Italy?
We had the delight of being able to learn about these 3 exciting countries! Claudia, Sophie W and Sophie C shared their knowledge by means of a detailed and knowledgeable PowerPoint about where they are from and were able to answer questions based on these! Well done! The children have really taken well to adding to their Anglo-Saxon Sertlements and they are really beginning to take shape! They've been able to screenshot their image and then send them wirelessly using AirDrop straight away to Mr Jones' iPad to then publish here! What do you think of what they've done so far?
Its an exciting day today as Year 4 battle it out (in a very friendly manner) to see who will be crowned sports day champions 2016.
Mr Jones has his pre-sporting even anthems of 'Eye of the Tiger' and 'We will rock you' ready to get his class in the zone, and will be hoping to play the euphoric 'We are the champions' at the end! Keep an eye out for picture updates to appear below during the day as each event unfolds, who will be the winners?! Honesty is the Value of the Month!
In today's Year 4 Assembly, we celebrated 'Honesty' with an informative PowerPoint presentation given by Orlagh, Mehr, Jac and Mariam! They provided various scenarios of both 'good' and 'bad' examples of this in a sensible and mindful way-Well done! |
