Mr Rawlings was able to give the pupils in Year 4 some expert advice in the creation of their Anglo-Saxon houses, and in particular the roof! There are some great examples of work being created, well done everyone! Vishnu has been working hard at applying his maths outside of the school and has achieved two certificates! Well done!
A huge thank you to Mrs Gordon for coming in to Year 4 Crimson class every week to hear the children read! We love this reading session!
The National are running monthly competitions for pupils about reading, and they are giving away books to schools as prizes. We always need new books!!!!!!
This month it is very simple & they just have to take a photo of their favourite book! Please click the link below for more details! Many thanks The Year 4 Team Year 4 had the privilege of welcoming Mr Gordon (Jac's Dad) to read a favourite family story called, 'Mad about Madeline' by Ludwig Bemelmans. The story is set in Paris and is about a little girl who has her Appendix removed. Mr Gordon is our first visiting reader of 2016! Thank you!
Ahmad Jallul has been busy! During the half term holidays he has created an interesting Arabic project poster at home which reveals various significant buildings of Emirates. So creative! Well done!
Coffee anyone? Claudia had a successful weekend, helping her parents to host a coffee morning and raising money for Cancer Research! In fact, she raised an incredible 6,153 dirhams! What a star!
Year 4 have been engaging with Minecraft during their Computing sessions and learning how to access a server, how to write code to make things happen and how to collaborate with others to achieve an objective. We are currently working on developing and Anglo-Saxon settlement and the children have made great inroads into creating their rivers and beginning to establish some forests and other natural resources. They've solved the issue of working at night by using torches (fire) and are firmly on route into using the woods and resources around to start fashioning the houses and fences of their settlements.
They have been very engaged and have been brilliant collaborators, assigning tasks and responsibilities brilliantly on the whole! Keep it up!
The video below (which needs the password) shows you how to log on and teleport between worlds. Mr Jones MAY share the password and let you access the server out of school in the final few weeks :)
Dear Mums & Dads,
We are looking forward to Sports Day on Monday 15th February: Year 3 and Year 4 – 9-11am. The children are aware of the events they are in, as their PE teachers assigned them these sports activities, for which they are best suited. We are also collecting the boxes for the School Fete and the children are keen to put the contents together over the long weekend. Each child is being encouraged to bring in a box, with contents to the value of 30Dhs. All proceeds from the various stalls will of course benefit the school. Have a lovely relaxing break.
